Tour of Queensway Tunnel, Liverpool

About this event

Join us on a free, expert guided tour of Liverpool’s historic first cross river road tunnel. Built in the 1920/30s this was at the time a record breaker in many ways.

The tour will give a unique insight into Liverpool’s historic importance as a major conurbation. Built in the sandstone under the Mersey the tunnel was a major factor in the growth and prosperity of the area.

The tour will be guided by a civil engineer and will give an insight into the major engineering project that the tunnel was and an insight into the work required to keep such a large and complex infrastructure installation working at maximum efficiency.

Booking is essential as places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
