This is a free event as part of ICE 200 – our 200th birthday celebrations – non-engineers are very welcome to attend.

Join us on a free, expert guided tour of Liverpool’s historic Old Dock, excavated underneath the site of Liverpool One the Old Dock was the world’s first commercial enclosed wet dock.

The tour will give a unique insight into Liverpool’s historic importance as a major port. Built in 1715 and buried beneath the city’s streets since 1826, the dock was discovered by archaeologists in 2001 and has now been preserved beneath the Liverpool One shopping centre.

Booking is essential as places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
