Transport planning and practical application of traffic predictions and modelling

About this event

The talk will be a good introduction as to how transport planning techniques can be practically applied to road schemes, and how traffic modelling is not purely a desktop exercise, but can be used to identify the preferred layout for a junction and demonstrate best value. All aspects of traffic modelling will be covered, from SATURN to PARAMICS and VISSIM, and also demonstrate how major schemes such as Elmbridge, Over and Cross Keys in Gloucestershire have been developed through the applied use of traffic modelling and Economics.

Speakers

Ian Sanders (B.Sc. M.Sc. Member CIHT) is a transport planner with twenty years experience, working for both public sector and private clients. Ian’s core skills are within transport planning and traffic modelling, joining Amey in 2015 with a high level of involvement in the Gloucestershire County Council contract.
