The Tsing Ma Bridge is not only a landmark of Hong Kong, but it is also the world’s longest suspension bridge with both rail and road traffic. It has a main span of 1,377 metres and a height of 206 metres. The Tsing Ma Bridge and Kap Shui Mun Bridge are the essential part of Hong Kong's traffic as they serve as the only route connecting Lantau Island, Chek Lap Kok Hong Kong International Airport and the urban area.
The Tsing Ma Bridge has a double-decker design in which the lower deck consists two airport express rail tracks and two sheltered carriageways. The two shelter carriageways serve as the maintenance access and open to public as traffic lane only during adverse weather. During the visit, participants will be able to visit the Tsing Ma Control Area and Tsing Sha Control Area to learn more about the traffic management of the bridges.
