1 December, 2015 | 17:00 - 19:30

A review into the UK Roads Liaison Group Code of Practice
A review into the UK Roads Liaison Group Code of Practice

About this event

Atkins has been commissioned by UKRLG to review and update the Codes of Practice that provide guidance to UK local highway authorities, to replace the current Codes Well Maintained Highways, Management of Highway Structures and Well-lit Lighting.

Since the current Codes were produced associated guidance has been published including the Potholes Review, Transport Resilience Review, a National Audit Office report and the Highway Infrastructure Asset Management Guidance and this review will incorporate this guidance within the Code of Practice.

The Code is aimed at highway maintenance practitioners and the review will create a common style and feel for all the main asset types.

A fundamental change to be introduced through this review is the adoption of a risk based approach when making decisions on highways maintenance.
