'The Journey' is the fruit of a new partnership between MEMO, Albion Stone and the Eden Project, who will operate the site. It will be housed in the 9m high tunnels of Albion's Mine accessed from the original MEMO site (Bower's Quarry) and presents a unique ancient/modern, real/virtual, interpretative experience without parallel anywhere in the world. The biodiversity subject is destined to remain an important global issue into the long term and is exquisitely appropriate to the evolutionary story embedded in the cliffs of the Jurassic Coast.
The Link Mine, Bower's Quarry, as a monument to the industrial extraction of rock and as a deep space within the geology of Portland, can function as an immersive multi-sensory journey and cultural hub that will engage optimistically on one of the planet's most pressing issues.
There will be a presentation and short workshop/discussion session.
