The guest speaker this year will be Huw Williams, a lecturer in history specialising in the 19th and 20th centuries.
He will present a talk entitled "Brunel's Representatives on Earth: The Dowlais Iron Company." The lunch is great value at £29.50 (including VAT) and is open to all with an engineering interest or association, including contractors, consultants and engineers from all engineering institutions and their spouses, partners and guests.
A three course lunch will be served, with beef for the main course. A vegetarian menu of Glamorgan Roast or a vegan choice of Aubergine Parmigiana will be available. Please advise if you have a dietary issue or wish to have the vegetarian/vegan option.
Tables for 8 or 10 will be available.

Huw is a part-time lecturer in history, specialising in the 19th and 20th centuries. Dowlais-born, he has a special interest over some forty years of research in all things Dowlais. He has worked for several universities within Wales, still tutors for Adult Learning Wales (formerly WEA) and gives talks to a wide range of groups in South Wales and beyond.
