About this event

What's so smart about smart meters?

The roll-out of smart meters in the UK will play an important part in the transition to a low-carbon economy and is set to provide consumers with better control of their energy consumption costs. Its introduction will also help the UK to meet the long term challenges it faces in assuring an affordable, secure and sustainable energy future for everyone.

For consumers smart meters are set to provide an accurate minute by minute view of energy usage, bringing an end to estimated bills and unnecessary meter reading visits.

Presenter David Owens, who leads Telefonica's smart radio team, will explain how Telefonica will deliver the required coverage and connectivity for the UK's Smart Meter Programme.
