World’s longest span bridge with LEGO® bricks, Hong Kong

About this event

What's 33 meters long, uses over 260,000 LEGO bricks, set a Guinness World Record and was designed by a native Hong Kong engineer who was just appointed CBE* in Queen Elizabeth II's 2018 New Year's Honours?

The World's Longest Span Bridge Built with LEGO Bricks, that is!

Designed by Dr. Robin Sham, FICE and AECOM's Global Long Span and Specialty Bridges Director, this bridge was first displayed in London in 2016 and set a Guinness World Record. The bridge has now been reconstructed for a special exhibition in the Metal Zone at Elements Shopping Mall in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, as part of the Institution of Civil Engineers bicentenary celebrations in 2018.

Constructed by Certified LEGO Professionals under the supervision of Dr. Sham – recently appointed CBE in Queen Elizabeth II's 2018 New Year's Honours for services to the Civil Engineering Profession, we are delighted that 8 secondary schools in Hong Kong were also involved in helping to build this innovative and impressive structure for the enjoyment of visitors. Please support the event by paying a visit to the world record LEGO bridge with your friends and relatives, including the next generation.

*CBE: Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
