About this event

Electric buses offer substantial reductions in emissions resulting in air pollution and greenhouse gases. York has pioneered the uptake of zero emission buses and has the largest commercially operated zero emission bus fleet in the UK as well as the first retro-fitted double decker electric bus.

City of York Council has been instrumental in the uptake of low emission vehicles in the city and will share the journey of implementation.

Elizabeth Bates, Principal Air Quality Officer at City of York Council, will give an overview of the York Low Emission Strategy/Air Quality Action Plan measures.

Derek McCreadie, Low Emission Officer, also at City of York Council, will describe York’s experiences commissioning and operating Electric Buses, the good and the bad.

Refreshments from 18.00.
