About this event

Competitors need to use their engineering and inter-personal skills to win over the judges and audience in a mock public consultation presentation. Come along and hear the presentations, or enter a team!

How can we enter?

  • Get a team together of between three and five student or graduate ICE members, each with no more than seven years' industry experience
  • Choose one scenario out of a possible five imaginary civil engineering projects which will affect a local community (see a list of projects briefs)
  • Prepare a public information leaflet
  • Write a consultation strategy document
  • Give a 20 minute presentation

Four reasons to take part

  • The winning Yorkshire and Humber regional team receives a £250 prize
  • It's an excellent CPD opportunity
  • A chance to develop your communication and presentation skills
  • The opportunity to represent Yorkshire and Humber in the national ICE final (last year's winners of the national competition were from our region!)

The closing date for entries is 10 February 2017. Good luck!
