About this event

To mark the 25th anniversary of the completion of the tunnel, a presentation involving five speakers: Mike Gilbert (Welsh Office), John Hawley (Capita), John Barr (Costain), Dave Evans (North and Mid Wales Trunk Road Agency) and Russell Davies (Costain). Their talk will cover the tunnel's history, development, construction and maintenance.

Mike Gilbert will outline how the Welsh Office arrived at the tunnel solution, John Hawley will talk about the technical aspects of the tunnel, John Barr will give a contractor's view on the tunnel construction and Dave Evans & Russell Davies will advise on the maintenance aspects of the tunnel and how it has performed since it's opening to traffic in October 1991.
