About this event

The theme for this lecture is Water Infrastructure, covering the original dock construction, regeneration of the docks in the 1980s and the future development of the Liverpool water front.

The Albert Dock lecture series seeks to celebrate the Dock as an exemplar heritage-led regeneration project and acknowledge the range of built environment professional involved in its success. The series will also look to the future and lessons learnt, examining a range of comparison projects. The events are held every six months in the build-up to the 175 year anniversary of the Albert Dock in 2021, with a different built environment professional group taking the lead each time.

The third event will be led by the Institution of Civil Engineers.

Speakers include:

  • James Parry, Chairman of the ICE NW Heritage Engineering Group
  • Roger Rumbold, Chief Engineer of the Merseyside Development Corporation (1986 – 1997)
  • Lindsay Ashworth, Development Director, Peel Ports
