About this event

Smart meters will offer an end to meter reading and billing errors while helping you save energy. But at a cost of £11bn, are smart meters really a benefit to society?

In an informal debate, there will be a panel of experts from a range of backgrounds and viewpoints. Those confirmed to date are: Andrew Jones, (EDF), David Greenwood, (Newcastle University), Charles Malissard, (Smart Energy GB) plus one other to be confirmed. Each panel member will give their perspective, and then will be able to respond to questions from the audience. The audience consensus will be polled before and after the discussion.

The evening is an ideal opportunity to find out more about smart meters and to participate in what is likely to be a lively discussion.

A buffet will be served from 19.00 and the debate will begin at 19.30.

Attendance is free but please register your place at: www.theiet.org/surrey
