About this event

Continuing the YRCE's theme of providing project lectures full of engineering best-practice. We welcome BIM expert Simon Dean to lecture to our audience about 'what good looks like' in his field. Simon's vision is influenced by a varied career which began with product design for manufacture and has led to his present day role of Lean facilitator.

In the decades between this, Simon has accomplished the title of 'Global BIM Champion' for ARUP and now provides site-based Contractor BIM support services.

Simon will present his approach for good design and how, by taking off our 'spectacles of tradition', we have an opportunity to deliver projects today that will achieve the Digital Built Britain targets of tomorrow. This lecture is not to be missed for anyone interested in the practicalities of how to deliver BIM in challenging project environments.

How will BIM plus other technologies change the sector?
