Join us on a tour of Bristol's floating harbour.

About this event

Bristol has always had a close relationship with water and owes its success to living and working next to the tidal River Avon. The Floating Harbour represents the embodiment of Bristol's ingenuity and engineering history.

On the tour, we will learn the history of the Harbour, how and why it was built, how it works and its evolution from industrial centre to architectural centrepiece as well some fascinating facts about some of its key landmarks!

The tour will be given by Patrick Goodey (Flood Risk Manager at Bristol City Council) and Andy King (Senior Curator for Social, Industrial & Maritime History and Working Exhibits at Bristol City Council).

A bar is also available on board.
