About this event

John and Ian will describe the replacement of the Carmuirs Aqueduct near Falkirk in Scotland This was a unique and fascinating project, involving a 19th century railway structure supporting the Forth & Clyde Canal, which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

The 2002 structure had failed, resulting in a costly monitoring regime, so there was an opportunity for a creative design solution. One that re-imagined these two inter-linked and important historical transport assets.
