About this event

Paul Chambers, Section Engineer, Skanska UK will give a presentation on the progress of Crossrail at Paddington.

ICE Wales has previously heard from the Costain-Skanska JV team at Crossrail’s Paddington Station, about the construction of the station’s main ‘box’. This lecture takes us briefly through the origins of the project and then focuses on the transition from heavy civils to station fit out, as the first trains are preparing to open London’s new railway. The presentation will consider the project from a designer and contractor’s perspective, covering some of the unique challenges of quality, logistics and technical constraints in the works.

Light refreshments will be served at 5.30, before the lecture starts at 6.00pm
