The Chief Buildings and Civils Engineer will lead a presentation on developments in digital asset management processes and tools at Network Rail. The lecture will cover a range of civil engineering infrastructure assets including tunnels, earthworks, structures and drainage; each asset will be covered by the respective Professional Head.

Topics include:

  • Improvements in tunnel condition data gathering (Tunnel Condition Marking Index) and its benefits
  • The future of tunnel examinations
  • Application of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data in earthworks asset management
  • The route to remote monitoring of earthworks
  • Digital asset management tools for railway civil engineering
  • Digital Drainage
