About this event

SEGRO Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway (SLPEMG) is a 700 acre development with planning consent for up to 6,000,000 sq ft of logistics accommodation. The development incorporates a 50 acre Strategic Rail Freight Interchange (SRFI) which will include a rail freight terminal, capable of handling up to sixteen 775m freight trains per day, container storage and HGV parking.

Extensive infrastructure works are currently underway which include: improvements to J24 and J24A of the M1 including the introduction of a smart motorway system by Highways England, safer access to the A50 at Lockington and Hemington and a new Kegworth by-pass.

For those interested, a site tour is being offered by Winvic to view the works completed so far on this significant development site – Booking limited to maximum 12 – PPE will be required – details at time of booking.

Speakers

Simon Hilditch

Simon is the Technical Manager at BWB and he will be providing an overview of the development of the scheme looking at design and planning.

Giles Taylor

Giles is a Design Manager at Winvic and he will provide an overview to the onsite construction with aspects of how the Development Consent Order (DCO) has helped this process and will discuss some of the challenges faced by the project.
