About this event

You are invited to a free canape reception with current and aspiring senior leaders in civil engineering in Kent, Medway and East Sussex. This is primarily a networking event and there will also be an opportunity to hear from the Arkwright Scholarship Trust, a charity which identifies, inspires and nurtures future leaders in engineering.

Senior leaders are encouraged to attend the event with a more junior colleague who aspires to become an engineering leader of the future. There will be a chance to discuss opportunities to become more involved with the work of the Institution in the branch area.

This event is sponsored by the Rochester Bridge Trust, one of the country's oldest charities, which supports civil engineering education as part of its work. The Trust has sponsored 10 Bridge Warden's scholars through their sixth form studies with the Arkwright Trust and is proud of the way these young people have developed and gone on to study civil engineering at some of the leading UK universities.

The event will be held in Maidstone Museum, a fine Elizabethan Manor House with later, award-winning additions. The Museum houses internationally important collections including fine art, natural and human history. During the reception the local history and costume collections will be available to view.

Please note that preceding the reception, there will be an updating workshop for Supervising Civil Engineers & Delegated Engineers which starts at 16.00.

Find out more information and book your place there (NB separately from the canape reception).
