About this event

The Environment Agency’s £32m flood defence scheme in the heart of Exeter is currently under construction. Following a presentation on the scheme there will be a walk to active construction sites nearby on the Quay and surrounding areas. Presentation at Riverside Conference Centre at 3:30pm, followed by Walk and site visit at Exeter Quay and Haven Banks at 4:30pm until 6pm.

Speaker

Richard Cox is a Chartered Civil Engineer with the Environment Agency. He has over 30 years’ experience in construction-related projects in the UK, USA and Africa. He is a member of the Supervising Panel for dam safety in the UK. His fields of expertise also include; flood defence, project management, maritime and tunnel engineering. He recently managed the successful planning and construction of the £21m Steart Coastal Management Project in Somerset. He is currently managing the £32m Exeter Flood Defence Scheme and the £14m Dawlish Warren Beach Management Scheme.
