About this event

With the increasing population and improvement works of sewage treatment system, the amount of sludge produced has increased rapidly. In the past, landfill is the only means for sludge disposal. Nevertheless, the completion of T Park has introduced an effective and sustainable method for sludge treatment in Hong Kong. In the newly built sludge treatment facility, the sludge will be incinerated and converted into ash and residues. As a result, 90% of the original sludge volume can be reduced. This is also a waste-to-energy process in which heat energy generated from the incineration process will be recovered and turned into electricity.

T Park also incorporates elements of leisure and education in its scheme. The spa pools, cafe and gardens create a harmonious space for recreation, whereas the exhibition hall and visitor gallery provide a platform for the public to learn about sludge treatment. Through the visit, participants will gain an insight on the latest strategy of sludge treatment in Hong Kong. Participants will also have a chance to experience the attractions in the T Park.
