Speaker

David Johns

With more than 40 years of experience working on road, rail, building and civil infrastructure projects David has progressed from engineering design through project management to operational management with UK consultants Scott Wilson Kirkpatrick and Owen Williams. He moved to Amey in 2006 as Bid Director tendering for design and design and build projects in the UK rail sector with tenders ranging in fee value from £50,000 to over £50 million. He retired from full time employment in 2015 but still provides bidding advice to Amey in the rail market.

He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, has represented the West Midlands on ICE Council since 2007 and was Chairman of ICE West Midlands in 2008. In his spare time he plays squash and racket ball, likes walking, cooking and travelling – especially to wine regions.
