About this event

In this seminar, Adrian Shawcross will talk about the types of work graduates need to do to achieve the required level of ICE IPD Attribute 6: Health, Safety and Welfare.

Attribute 6 for graduates applying for MICE/IEng MICE includes:

  • A. A sound knowledge of legislation, hazards and safe systems of work.
  • B. Manage risks.
  • C. Manage health, safety and welfare within own area of responsibility.

In addition, graduates applying for CEng MICE includes:

  • D. Leading continuous improvement in health, safety and welfare.

Speaker: Adrian Shawcross is a Chartered Civil Engineer and a Technical Member of the Institution of Safety and Health. Adrian’s involvement in project health and safety commenced early in his career whilst spending a period seconded to Balfour Beatty and later managing works where access onto the operational railway was required. In recent years he has become a health and safety advisor for Ramboll UK and sits on the company’s Health, Safety and Welfare Panel.
