About this event

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) celebrates its 200th anniversary in 2018 and will be organising signature events across the globe. One of the flagship programmes is the ICE Bicentenary Hong Kong Innovation Summit to be held on 12 January 2018. This high profile event will be graced by The Hon Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, GBM, GBS, The Chief Executive of the HKSAR and Honorary Fellow of the ICE, Professor Lord Robert Mair, the incoming ICE President, and Sir Kirby Laing, Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Cambridge.

The title of the summit is "Transform and Protect Lives". There will be two plenary sessions covering the topics of Smart City and Climate Change Resilience respectively. The format of the summit will consist of inspirational keynote addresses setting out the vision, strategic directions, barriers and threats, and mainstreaming innovations and technological solutions.
