About this event

Come along to the ICE London Graduates and Students Annual General Meeting to get involved in shaping the engineering agenda for ICE Graduate and Student members.

The ICE Graduates and Students Committee aims to support and develop members based in London who are in education, undertaking an apprenticeship, or have graduated and are working towards their professional review (including AMICE, EngTech, IEng, and CEng). This is done through organising and hosting wide ranging events including site visits, evening seminars, training courses, schools outreach events, socials, pre-review training and debates. We meet on the first Tuesday evening of each month at Price and Myers, 37 Alfred Place, London, WC1E.

All Graduate and Student members of the ICE who live or work in London are eligible to be part of the committee in the following ways:

  • Becoming General Committee Members;
  • Being elected into one of the 18 Named Roles;
  • Being elected into one of the 7 Strategic Group positions.

General Committee Members only need to turn up to any meeting and can get involved as much or as little as they like. The AGM is a great introduction to finding out more about the committee.

Named Roles are elected at the AGM and serve a year in the role. The roles vary in size, and a summary of the roles and their deliverables is included in the attached document ('AGM-table.docx': see below). More information will be presented at the AGM and any questions about the roles will be answered. The roles are split into sub-committees based on the type of activity, namely Knowledge, Membership and Informing Opinion. There is also an additional strand this year as part of the ICE's bicentenary celebrations.
