About this event

This presentation will explore the design process and construction of Immingham Renewable Fuels Terminal – a facility built for the importation, storage and onward transfer of renewable fuels at the Port of Immingham. The Port of Immingham is already the UK’s largest handler of dry bulk cargo, however the addition of the IRFT will put Immingham at the forefront in the supply of renewable power generation from biomass.

The project, worth £120m, was let by Associated British Ports and is capable of handling 6million tonnes of wood pellets per annum. The slip formed silos, which are an average height of approximately 54 metres, have a total capacity of around 340,000m³ and were constructed on a 24 hour basis with the shutter rising approximately 300mm per hour.

The presentation will be delivered by two speakers: Alan Wallace and Gareth McLaverty. Alan and Gareth both work as Contracts Managers for Graham Construction and were responsible for overseeing the Immingham IRFT Contract.

This event is sponsored by Hays logo.
