The theme of this year’s National Apprenticeship Week is skills for life. Therefore in this Apprentice and Technician welcome evening we would like all current and aspiring apprentices and technicians to learn how the apprenticeship route can develop the key skills that can be used throughout their career and life.
Attendees will learn about the skills that they can develop and implement in an apprenticeship by listening to a panel of speakers. The panel will be made up of current and past apprentices who will discuss and reflect on their own experiences.
There will also be a chance for attendees to ask the panel questions so that they can answer more specific issues. Attendees will be able to implement the skills they learnt in the panel by taking part in a discussion task after the Q&A segment of the event.
For the discussion task, attendees will be split into five groups that will be given different civil engineering briefs. Each group will work together to fulfil and satisfy the client’s needs whilst thinking about the practicality and sustainability of their final solution.
