Climate change has become an important issue globally. In Malaysia, the government has taken significant steps by forming a ministry, i.e., the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change (NRECC), to address the impacts of climate change.

Weather patterns are becoming increasingly unpredictable, leading to severe drought in some parts of the world, while other parts experienced extreme rainfall, resulting in unprecedented floods and damage.

Various strategies and adaptation measures are needed to combat the impacts of climate change impact. These include reviewing and changing policy, standards, requirements, analysis, and design.

This presentation highlights the adaptation measures in flood management in Malaysia, especially addressing the design criteria and analysis.
