Overview

A Placemaking Approach

Jen Heal will present the principles of the Placemaking Wales Charter and highlight the importance of getting the right development, in the right location, with the right connections.

Jen will explore how the relationship between land use planning and transport planning is critical to this, and how this can establish the right conditions for high quality, placemaking at street design level.

Representatives from Transport for Wales (TfW) will present some examples of placemaking-led design of streets in new developments and retro fitting streets in existing places.

TfW will also cover the approach they are taking in embedding placemaking within the organisation to ensure all projects contribute positively to their place.

Each will talk for 10 minutes to allow for questions and discussion after.
