Energy services giant Baker Hughes, a GE company (BHGE) opened its £31 million centre of excellence in Montrose in June 2019.
The base delivers engineering, manufacturing, testing, assembly and services for deepwater technology and was designed by Ramsay Chalmers. The construction of the facility included several challenges which were overcome by the application of both traditional and modern engineering techniques.
The presentation, by Andrew Ramsay, Director of Ramsay & Chalmers Civil and Structural Engineers, will follow the evolution of the project from the initial concepts, though the design and finally on to the construction of the facility on site.
This event will be hosted by the Aberdeen Association of Civil Engineers at the University of Aberdeen.
