Overview

The UK government is under mounting pressure to deliver infrastructure at a pace to support growth and meet future demands. At the same time, it is challenged by public finance constraints, and cuts in public finances are anticipated. This brings the issue of infrastructure planning and prioritisation to the forefront. Can the UK draw on global lessons in long-term strategic planning to navigate its challenges?

The ICE-convened Enabling Better Infrastructure (EBI) Programme has been working with governments around the world to explore how countries can enable better strategic infrastructure planning. The programme has identified guiding principles for prioritising and planning infrastructure, ensuring governments can see beyond the uncertainties of the day.

This event will provide an opportunity to hear key insights and international best practices in developing stable, sustainable and investable project pipelines that meet people’s needs. Speakers will discuss how countries navigate the complexities of infrastructure planning and use EBI guidance to deliver better outcomes for people and the planet.

Join this event and find out what the UK can learn to avoid missteps that could derail the UK’s future progress.
