Overview

This CPD session, organised by the ICE Bristol & Bath Early Careers Network, will provide a high-level overview of carbon management and look at how we can all become more carbon conscious in our work and home lives.

The talk will consider the role of the construction sector in a world where action is needed to decarbonise and halt climate change. Discover how early career civil engineers can positively influence change.

The event is designed to enable attendees to be better prepared to integrate carbon consciousness into their professional sphere. The key learning outcomes of the session are:

  • To gain an understanding of the basic science of climate change and how climate change will affect us both globally and locally
  • Be aware of how climate change will affect the construction industry
  • Explore the low carbon objectives across the construction industry
  • Learn about some of the the strategies for influencing others to take action on climate change.
