Please note that this webinar will be held on 17 August 2021 from 19:00 – 20:30 HK time.

The webinar will deliver an introduction to the civil engineering profession, and explain what it means to become Chartered. Differences between various engineering professional titles under the UK system, such as Engineering Technician, Incorporated Engineer, and Chartered Engineer, will be discussed in detail. You will be introduced to the various intertwined paths connecting studying, training, professional reviews, and other profession engineering institutions (PEI) qualifications to the mentioned professional accreditations.

It is the perfect fit for diploma and degree students in their senior years opting for joining the profession and graduates who are planning ahead for their career. The speaker will provide you with informed options, and help you begin with the end in mind.

The Membership Development Officer of ICE Hong Kong, Mr Mario Luk, will be the speaker for webinar, where the following topics will be covered:

  • The civil engineering profession and career development opportunities.
  • Available engineering professional titles.
  • The prerequisite education, on-the-job training, and professional review requirements for the professional titles.
  • The Professional Standards (the ICE Attributes), and the essential academic and professional (on-the-job) competence requirements.
  • Alternative ways to fulfil academic competence requirements.
  • Alternative ways to fulfil professional competence requirements.

This webinar aims to systematically explain to you in detail the above topics and a Q&A session will be included at the end.

  • Registration will be confirmed on a first-come-first-served basis, and priority will be given to ICE graduate and student members.
  • Only successful applicants will receive a confirmation email.
  • Attendance certificates will be provided for this event only if attendees attend the whole event.
  • Applicants with no-show records will be given lower priority in future G&S events.
