This company visit and career workshop is an exciting initiative that aims to equip civil engineering students with skills and knowledge for successful job hunting and to bridge the gap between aspiring civil engineers and industry professionals. Two essential components for job hunting, CV writing and interview skills, will be covered in the workshop. Attendees will be able to learn the top tips of writing their CV in a precise and concise manner, strategies in preparing cover letters as well as interview skills for civil engineering jobs.
Through engaging presentations, discussions on industry trends, and interactive sessions with experienced engineers, students will gain practical insights into daily operations of an engineering firm, project management, innovative technologies, and sustainability practices. This event could inspire university students with a firsthand understanding of how a reputable civil engineering firm operates.

Safety training certificates and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Participants shall bring with them their safety training certificate (‘Green card’) on the day of visit.
- The certificate shall be issued by recognised authorities and be valid on the day of the visit. Participants shall bring their own a pair of safety boots.
- Attendees who fail to comply with the above requirements may be refused entry to the site area.
Notes:
- Registration will be confirmed on a first-come-first-served basis, with priority given to ICE HKA G&S members.Only successful applicants will be notified.
- The event will be conducted primarily in Cantonese, and English terms will be introduced where appropriate.
- Attendance certificates will be provided within two weeks of the event only if attendees participate for the entire duration of the event.
- Applicants with no-show records will be given lower priority in future G&S events.

Adverse weather arrangements:
- The event will be cancelled or rescheduled to another date in the case of a black rainstorm signal, or typhoon signal no. 8 or above is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at or after 11.00. The organiser reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the event in view of safety or other considerations.
- The event will still be carried out in the case of amber or red rainstorm signal, or typhoon signal no. 3 is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at or after 11.00. Meanwhile, the rundown of the event will be slightly changed.
