Overview

Engineers appreciate the technical aspects of golf - analysing the swing, studying ball flight, and calculating course conditions. Golf allows them to enjoy a well-deserved break while still engaging their analytical skills, making it an ideal recreational activity.

ICE HKA G&S is delighted to organise a golf fun day for engineers where participants can learn and experience the fun of golf. The event is open to engineers regardless of skill level and participants with no golf experience are welcome.

The event is held at Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course, an outlying island in Sai Kung. Participants will be given a short introduction to basic golf skills and techniques, followed by an hour of golf clinic session to master their golf skills. It is a good opportunity for beginners to practise and train for basic golf skills, including equipment selection, exercising proper stance and posture, and swinging techniques.

The golf fun day also provides a good time for participants to learn to be patient, a virtue that is often lost in everyday work or learning. It is unavoidable for amateurs to learn slowly or shoot embarrassingly. Indeed, like our daily work as civil engineers, we have to keep calm and learn from mistakes. The ultimate goal for the event is not to score a birdie nor an eagle in one round, but to have fun on the golf course.

After the golf clinic session, participants will be provided with a lunch where they can share their experiences in the golf training session. It is also a precious opportunity for young engineers to expand their social network in the engineering industry.

Places are limited. Register for the event to meet other engineers and wrap up the wonderful spring through learning and practising golf.
