Overview

The Innovation Month is a series of workshops looking at engaging the engineering community to think more innovatively and find new ways in which we can solve the issues that the industry currently faces.

What will you get?

This is a unique opportunity to learn how to think more innovatively, discuss with industry experts and brainstorm solutions with other like-minded people. You will have the chance to meet inspiring C-Tech Startup entrepreneurs and hear their experiences within the industry.

Who are these workshops for?

Anyone who has an interest in construction and skills: public sector, private companies, colleges and training organisations, and students.

The first workshop aims to look at understanding what innovation is and how it can be applied in the industry but also in our everyday engineering roles. As one of our speakers said, ‘Innovation is not about research and development but how we learn from failures, it is a way of thinking! This workshop is set to challenge the status quo and open our engineering minds to the concept of innovation and its many benefits.

The rest of the workshops are looking to address more particular issues in the industry and will bring construction tech entrepreneurs to discuss their products and how those products currently work to help the industry and the aim is that this will spark newfound creativity in the attendees and start the new revolution of innovation within the sector. They will talk about how they developed their products, how this currently helps the industry and will hopefully spark our inner entrepreneurial spirit.

Each workshop will consist of short presentations followed by breakout rooms discussions and feedback sessions. The agenda and speakers will be sent to you prior to each event.

This event is organised by ICE London Graduates and Students Committee.
