Overview
The Emerging Engineers Award promotes and rewards outstanding communication of civil engineering ideas and research. Student, graduate and trainee technician members of the ICE are now invited to submit a paper on a civil engineering topic in the format of research, report or an essay.
Entering the Emerging Engineers Award (EEA) allows applicants to:
- Showcase their talent in the wider engineering community
- Develop communication skills and confidence in public speaking
- Improve written and verbal skills in preparation for professional review
- Promote their employer or universities name to the industry
Entries should be based on an applicant’s own work and can be adapted from university projects, quarterly employment reports or professional review reports.
Entries consist of an initial single A4 page synopsis (approximately 400 words) which, if shortlisted, should be developed further into a final submission up to 4,000 words.
The deadline for applications is 7th March 2022 and the regional final will take place in Winchester on 4th May 2022.

The regional winner will be shortlisted for the 2022 Emerging Engineers Global Final, where the prestigious Institution Medal.
