ICE South East Annual Golf Meeting, Hampshire

Overview

After a 2 year gap due to COVID, we are delighted to be able to hold the annual golf meeting again but this time with a change in venue. The Army GC course is a 6330 yard Par 71 off the yellow tees. Formerly starting life in 1883 for the Army Officers of Aldershot Garrison it has since evolved through the years to become a private members club with a fascinating mixture of retired and serving military but mainly locals enjoying everything the club has to offer. The Army Golf Club is currently listed in the Top 10 of Hampshire courses and were proud hosts to the 2016 PGA Euro Pro Golf Tour.

The format is lunch from 12.30pm, singles stapleford, followed by an evening meal and prize giving. Without lunch I should be able to arrange start times up to 14.30. We will again be playing for The Barry Staynes Trophy. However, the golf meeting is primarily a social event and members are encouraged both to invite guests and to e-mail the details to other golfing members or put this flyer onto your workplace notice board so that we can try to increase the numbers attending, especially younger members. If you would like to play, please return the reply form as soon as possible. The cost would be £70.00 per player to cover a round of golf and a 2 course evening meal. Soup and sandwiches will be an additional £5.00 if required. Alternatively, members and guests can play 9 holes in the morning as well for a total cost of £90.00 which includes coffee and bacon rolls on arrival and soup and sandwiches for lunch and a 2 course evening meal. Entry fees are payable by 9th May (details overleaf). The club will charge 50% for withdrawals later than 2 days before the event. Further details on timings and directions will be provided nearer the day.
