Join ICE West Midlands Graduates and Students Committee for a site visit to the A34 Perry Barr construction site and learn first-hand how the Highways Improvement Scheme is progressing.
The A34 Perry Barr Highways Improvement Scheme began in May 2020 and supports the delivery of new homes, improvements to public transport, walking and cycling routes, community facilities and lively public spaces. This scheme will be beneficial to a substantial number of people and is due for completion ahead of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games this summer.
During the visit, attendees will be given a guided tour of the live site where the engineers will discuss how the scheme is being constructed, including the installation of a unique new bridge over the existing bypass. This is a fantastic opportunity for West Midlands based graduates, students, apprentices and technicians to develop their site knowledge. It will also provide an opportunity to apply knowledge gained to the ICE attributes, including health, safety and wellbeing which is vital for all trainees.
Please note all attendees are required to bring their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The minimum requirements are:
- Hard hat
- High vis jacket/vest
- High vis trousers
- Safety (steel toe cap) boots
Spaces for this event are limited so register soon. Once capacity is reached, please email [email protected] to join the waiting list, quoting the event name and date.
