Overview

There is no doubt that professional engineers should take a proactive role in managing engineering activities that contribute to sustainable development and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

In this event, participants will have the opportunity to enhance their understanding of sustainable environments and green living through a guided tour of the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change and eco-tour of the Lake Ad Excellentiam in the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

The Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change showcases a valuable collection from Dr Rebecca Lee, the renowned environmentalist and explorer, the collection of interactive multimedia presentation of remote sensing and environmental monitoring, as well as the research and innovation in multi-disciplines. In the last section of the museum, the exhibition stresses on the importance of community support in achieving UNSDGs and aims to inspire participants to get involved in waste-reduction and living a green lifestyle.

Apart from the regular one-hour guided tour to the museum, participants will have a chance to visit ecological attractions and green facilities on the CUHK campus. The eco-tour of the Lake Ad Excellentiam at the Chinese University of Hong Kong will bring participants to learn the diverse urban plants and animals found in Hong Kong.
