Join us to learn more about Lakeland Bridges with guest speaker local historian, Andy Lowe.

The talk will cover early bridge building as Monks, from Furness Abbey, brought masonry and other skills to turn a rural landscape.

After the dissolution of the monasteries, the need for better communications grew as Britain moved into the Industrial Revolution.

This is a joint event between Professional Engineers South Cumbria (PESC), Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and ICE Cumbria branch.

Note, this event will be held in Barrow-in-Furness and requires physical attendance. There will be no live-stream or recording on this occasion.
