Overview

We are hosting this event in partnership with MidKent College and J. Murphy & Sons Ltd to bring together engineers and technicians who work in the field of civil engineering in Kent and East Sussex. We will be discussing how we complete tasks with due consideration for quality including managing quality processes, contributing to the improvement, and promoting best practices.

This event will help you improve your knowledge of quality.  It will help you reflect on the work you do and how and why quality is essential to civil engineering.  There will be plenty of time for opportunities to discuss why it should be important to everyone, how you personally can contribute to achieving a ‘quality’ outcome, and steps you can take to improve the quality of the work you do.

This is an opportunity for networking, knowledge, and nourishment. It is a physical event and includes a light breakfast which will be served at 8:30am.

Mike Buss

Mike Buss is a Chartered Civil Engineer, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and a Quality Practitioner with the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI). Throughout his employment, he has worked within a variety of sectors including Rail, Aviation and Residential. He is an engaging speaker, and he has demonstrated expertise in the quality and compliance of construction projects in addition to safety and environmental management. He is currently UK Head of Quality Delivery at J. Murphy & Sons Ltd.

Mike is also a member of the Steering Committee for the CQI’s Construction Special Interest Group (ConSIG) and a working group Chair.
