This evening CPD session, delivered by the Marshalls Design Team, provides a great opportunity to learn about the latest code of practice for the design of pavements using modular paving units.

The standards governing the design of such pavements were changed in August 2021 by the British Standards Institute (BSI) where several separate design standards were consolidated into one complete document – BS 7533-101. The session will cover some of the key changes to the design process, exploring the new information contained within the document. The talk will focus on the structural design of key elements of pavement design including the standards and design of the concrete and stone surface courses.

An experienced pavement engineer within the Marshalls Design Team will take you through the changes in the new British Standard and explain how these changes affect landscape architects, designers and engineers who work with modular paving.

There is free parking on campus from 18:00 and other carparks and on street parking nearby, as well as options for public transport and active travel.
