Significant investment has been made in implementing Construction 2.0 to promote innovation, professionalism and revitalisation in the construction industry. While there have been many recognised successes, rising industry fatality rate and construction cost, as well as decreased job satisfaction continue to affect the attractiveness of the industry among young people.

In this webinar, our speaker Mr Dennis Li, a project management advisor with civil engineering and legal training background, will be sharing his views on the importance of collaboration between clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders toward project success and industrial development.

Dennis will demonstrate how the misalignment of values and behaviours could lead to miscommunication between parties, and the dos and don’ts when such an issue emerges. As there is no code of practice or technical circulars to resolve people’s issues, the common practice was to ignore the conflicts first and draft stronger contract terms to reinforce command and control in the next project.

Dennis will also explore alternative approaches to resolve this key issue through developing and promoting a behaviour framework for organisations. To facilitate collaboration between interface parties, collaborative behavioural monitoring and assessment should be incorporated as project management protocol as well. As this alternative approach is drawn from international best practices, this sharing will help prepare young engineers for potential overseas opportunities.

Please note that this webinar will be held on 6 July 2022 from 19:00 – 20:30 HK time.
