Compared to more conventional construction methods, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) and Modular integrated Construction (MiC) are new approaches which have been delivering promising results in improving productivity and quality control, amongst other potential benefits in cost reduction and safety. As modules prefabricated off-site become larger and heavier, the lifting operations associated become increasingly demanding.

In this webinar, Ms Rachel Chan from Set Win Machinery, a seasoned heavy lifting service provider, will return to the basics and guide us step by step in the planning and executing of lifting operations. Ms Chan will first provide an overview of various common lifting appliances employed, followed by a brief comparison of their strengths and limitations. She will also be sharing case studies of past lifting operations, and will highlight variants of lifting operations such as tandem lifting and the use of fly jibs.
