Overview

We will start with the main presentation by Mervyn Carter. He will be speaking at this event to share with other rail enthusiasts some of his wealth of experience as a civil engineer and his love for model trains too. He will take you through examples of some of the work he has undertaken and pass on some valuable advice on lessons learnt in a career spanning over 45 years in the railway industry.

Following this presentation, at 1pm we shall be meeting some of the current employees from Hornby who will be telling us about the company, its past, present and future in the world of modelling. On completion we will break for lunch

Lunch will be from 2 - 3pm.

After lunch there will be an opportunity to explore the Hornby museum and there will be an exclusive, behind the scenes, tour of the growing ‘One:One Collection’ of real life, full size locomotives.

We shall aim to be finishing at 4pm.
