You can catch-up on details or any broadcast and downloads here.
2021 marks the Centenary of the Railway Civil Engineers’ Association. In the past one hundred years, the world, the railway industry in the United Kingdom and around the world has changed significantly, but one thing that hasn’t changed is the key role the railways have played in connecting people and cities, forming the greenest, safest and most efficient way of transporting people and freight between and into our towns, centres of industry and cities.
We would like to invite our members to join us at the ICE at One Great George Street for a special festive event, to celebrate our history. We’d like to invite our members to share any memories or thoughts on the industry, of it’s past, present and future, and any anecdotes of interest from their careers and past, in an audience discussion hosted by the RCEA Chair, Jonathan Buttery.
We will then retire for some festive drinks and nibbles and socialising. The audience discussion and any slides or images will also be broadcast online for any members who wish to attend remotely.
Please accept the invite using the booking link below, to confirm if you are attending in person or online. Numbers in person will be limited, so please book now to avoid disappointment!
If you have any images, photos or anecdotes of railway civil engineering interest, please e-mail these to [email protected] by Friday 3rd December 2021 and we will endeavor to share them on the evening. We would welcome any contributions of a few slides, photos or videos, and will have an open mic for 1-2 minutes audience discussion on each item.
The conference will explore the implementation of COP 26 policies, including a wide range of topics which will positively impact the way we live our lives from transport strategy through using new and sustainable technologies.
The University of Strathclyde and the British Hydrological Society are pleased to invite you to the 2022 British Hydrological Society Peter Wolf Early Career Hydrologist’s Symposium, which will be hosted by the Centre for Water, Environment, Sustainability & Public Health at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow from 22 to 23 March 2022.
