Overview
Join the ICE Early Careers Network East Midlands for a site visit to the North-East Melton Mowbray Distributor road site in Leicestershire, hosted by contractor Galliford Try.
The North and East Melton Mowbray Distributor road (NEMMDR) is a major road scheme in Leicestershire aimed at reducing congestion in the town centre, as well as supporting growth in local employment and enabling local housing delivery.
The scheme includes six roundabouts, four new overbridges, numerous culverts, and extensive ground improvement works.
This unique event will be of great interest for graduates, students and apprentices interested in learning about highways, structures, and construction.
The following PPE is required for access to the site:
- Hard hat
- Long-sleeve his-vis top (orange preferred)
- Hi-vis trousers (orange preferred)
- Glasses
- Gloves
- Safety Boots
Please note: you will need to bring your own PPE as this will not be provided.
Due to the site location, there is no pedestrian access. Free car parking is readily available. For those arriving by bus, train, on foot or taxi, collection and drop-off can be arranged, please contact the Regional Support Team at [email protected].
